Bedford...

Bedford...

Aquill, I don't know anyone up Bedford way. Maybe contact the local Jag club and see if they have some ideas. The Dallas area has two active Jaguar Clubs.

We have a service shop in Carrolton, but we don't do body work. Besides, I think you want to do the work yourself and save the $$.

Don't get lazy, use jack stands! I know the temptation of "I'll just raise it a little bit to get that one piece off." Don't take the risk. Safty first!

Absolutely Ken..Good advise for all the youngsters here too..I never go under the car while jacked up unless there is a Jack-stand supporting it first..I didn't get to age 53 being lucky.

Jaguar club eh...where can I find info out about that? I started the bumper project...I removed it with the car sitting on the ground (man did it suck![:@]) but I have to glue some stuff back together (bolt seized up on the bottom bumper cover that connects to the reverse sensor plastic so I've got to go get er glued up...hopefully have the new bumper on today with a write-up ready to go...

aquill1,

Thanks for the warning. Everything is operating normal since the cleaning, so I guess I didn't do any harm. I'll be carefull in the future. I just can't stand to see all cruddy looking.

Yeah just be careful what you do powerwash, I usually try to only wash plastic or things that are easy to get to and just rinse the other things. You can also hand wash which once clean works very well. I've had problems after washing the engine bay down before but not in the jag...

Yeah, I've heard for many years not to power wash engines, that you can do all kinds of bad things to them. However I've always power washed them, the old points type ignitions and the modern electronic ones and have never had any problems. I just go over them quickly and don't leave the stream too long in the vital areas.
