First problem.
Driving to work Monday, my car threw a check engine light. It started to buck, and then quit. Never done this before. It restarted but kept stalling. Then LOTS of dash lights went on. Its at the shop and they say it threw a total of ten codes. They reset the codes and the car seems fine, but they have ZERO idea why it threw a code, and stalled, then went down hill. They said it threw every code from ABS to seat belts, as well as engine codes. Any ideas? Bill400 is a local member, I was going to PM him, but wanted some forum ideas as well.
Any idea why it would trip SO MANY computer codes at once?

bikerlaw, when you start seeing random codes and loss of power like you experienced, it is most likely a power issue. Based on that, I would first start with getting a load test done on the battery. Even if it is "OK" (not great), replace the battery. After that, start looking at the battery cables and also the cable running between the alternator and the starter. Any one of those wires can raise hell with the car's voltage and lead to the computers getting confused and in general poor performance. In your case, it is sounding like you have a power wire that may have rubbed on something and is shorting out. Been there, seen that with other vehicles.

I have a 06 PT Cruzer (don't hold it against me), the same thing happened, dash lights flashed. lost power almost died. I tested the battery running, 14.5 volts, engine off 12.5 Volts and it dropped gradually to 12. I pulled it out and had it tested. JUNK.replaced it, problem gone. Any Auto Zone/ ORielly will test it for $0.00. if it;s OK then start with cables/connections ect.I had bought the old one at Fleet Farm and with the prorated warranty discount of 5 Yrs I paid $32.00 and it was 3 Yrs old. The one in the Jag lasted 8 Yrs but I paid $110.00 for that one when I replaced it.

Update:
Well, after the shop reset the codes, it happened a second time. I brought it right back to the shop. Turns out the throttle body is bad. They claim there is some sensor in the throttle body that went bad and the entire throttle body unit needs to be replaced. The kicker is, a new throttle body from Jaguar is $1,700!!!!! The shop was able to find a used one on-line that comes with a warranty. So my baby is sitting at the shop till the throttle body shows up Monday. Bummer. Up until this, the car has been nothing less than flawless. Thanks for the input and responses. Can't wait to get my Dang Jag back!

I was able to get the throttle body back from the shop. It looks as if its fully intact, and they/I did nothing to it. Its exactly as they gave it back to me. I did not remove the plastic side cover, so I assume everything is still intact. I have a pretty expansive tool box, with what I thought was every tool I would ever need, but the "Allen/torx" screws that hold the side cover on is some strange size or design, because NOTHING I have will fit the screw heads to verify that everything is still in there. Either way, I would be happy to send it to you if you think if may help future generations of X-Type owners. Just PM me your address and I will send it out over the weekend.

That's exactly what I hope you can establish. I use a shop that I have a long history with, and I have grown to trust. When he told me that the entire throttle body had to be replaced, I suspect he truly believed it. I also suspect that Jaguar has designed it to be that way for both simplicity in design and development, as well as cost effective R&R for their dealer network. Like you guys, I truly believe there's more to it than that, and I hope you guys figure it out. The cost for the replacement part if you buy direct from Jaguar was almost two thousand dollars, and that's simply an unacceptable expense for a simple replacement part. Good luck with what you find, as I hope to benefit from this as well as many other forum members.
