Default Fixed my key fob

Ok, so its never worked, I tried replacing the battery, nothing, I got a wild hair today to make this thing work, I took out the circuit board, cleaned both sides with q-tips with rubbing alcohol on them, and the connections on the back side of the fob that holds the battery, WOW, now all of a sudden it worked, but only off and on, I get to looking a little closer, the DOOR LOCK button on the circuit board which has 4 soldered posts had broken solder connections causing it to only work off and on when you happened to push it just right where all 4 posts connected, one of those posts not being connected on that button caused the whole unit to not work at all. well I soldered those back on, now it works flawlessly, finally, lol.

I did not take any pics because everything i was doing seemed experimental, when I replace the battery next time I will take some pics showing what I had to do to fix it.

Cheers!

Pesky key fobs - they can be a pain in the **** ! Anyway my friend you stood no S..t from this one and really took it to him. I am impressed and appraised on how you dealt with the mini monster - amazing what these creatures can get up to.

Had a similar problem with my fob some time back, wouldn't work at all. Had to put the key in the door to lock and unlock the car. Had tried cleaning the fob, new battery and all. Did my head in for near a year then when I was at the dealers one day I happened to mentioned it to him and he told me it was a common enough problem due to the cover on the ignition barrel.

Basically its was sticking on mine, not closing when the key came out and therefore the car was thinking the keys were still in the ignition when they weren't. And to prevent me from locking my keys in the car it wouldn't allow the key fob to work. WD40 sorted the problem and no problems since.

Great feeling overcoming these problems.
