Default Flashing amber warning light

Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue or knows what the issue is.

I went out for a drive this morning and the amber warning light started to flash erratically and intermittently with no message displayed, this continued for about 10 min's then stopped. there was no noticeable fault with the drive of the car. The car had been out about an hour earlier without an issue.

It is a 2004 2.0D SE estate.

Thanks in advance

Craig

Craig: Suggestion: Turn the ignition key to the on position to activate all the dash lights and take the picture in the few seconds the lights are on. Circle the amber light in question and post the picture here. Someone will know.

I think he is talking about the amber light above the message center.

Hi Craig,
The amber (warning) light you refer to is to indicate to you that the Diesel Particulate Filter (DFP) is full - and requires regeneration.

See that attached;

Hope this helps.

Take it for a fast , long run see if you regen & burn the gunge out of the DPF. Make sure you do this once in a while to keep DPF working properly

Default Thanks Five Speed

There is no message in the display to indicate this and the light was flashing erratically. I will give it a blast though to see if it changes anything.

Cheers

Craig

Well I'm facing the same issue for the last couple of days.Just carried out a code reading, needless to say, there is none. After several ours of investigation I realised that I've seen the amber light flashing last time when the traction control was working a lot in the winter months.Took mine for a spin and when it started to flash the amber light I switched off the traction control and suddenly everything went back to normal.I suspect one of my rear sensors are faulty...
Hope it helped!
