I think it is part of the latch..Not sure..But I've heard this is a problem with intermittent closures alerts in 2002s...Just slam the Boot lid a couple of times and see if that gets it..

i dont know for some reason i pay atention to detail and i can really tell first day soemthing is wrong with my car. Its staretd only as the open door flickering signal only when i was driving and only when fasta and when i went over a bump. then it started with the alarm. then i knew it has something to do with a sensor it couldnt be the hood cause i change it like a year ago but even when it would showed open it would never let the alarm off.

Also when i changed the part the hood switch it was fine for a day. Maybe are the wires or something. dont know going to try unplugging the battery and put in it back to reset the car .
LOL, apparently not too close.....
But let me just say, that you could have one of the 4 door switches acting up too..It could be the trunk lid switch (again)and it could be a Hood switch (again)...Even if a part is new, it don't mean it is good..Recheck everything.
