i have a problem with my x-type is a 2002 and lately it started to sound the alarm and also when driving it it would show the light thats show a door is open in the dashboard. It would stop when the car was not moving but when moving it would flicker i say it was the hood so i replaced the under bonnet security switch and it seamed to work for a day and yesterday the alarm started again when the car was park.

It seams that the car is park and looked but when the contact or something from the switch doesn't work its letting me know like if someone try to open it.

Please anybody had a similar problem???

do you mind telling me where is that located aqnd is it easy to instal like the other one?

ohhh you know what i change the trunk one last year.. but i know for sure is the hood.

 

i dont know for some reason i pay atention to detail and i can really tell first day soemthing is wrong with my car. Its staretd only as the open door flickering signal only when i was driving and only when fasta and when i went over a bump. then it started with the alarm. then i knew it has something to do with a sensor it couldnt be the hood cause i change it like a year ago but even when it would showed open it would never let the alarm off.

Also when i changed the part the hood switch it was fine for a day. Maybe are the wires or something. dont know going to try unplugging the battery and put in it back to reset the car .
