I lost my main black key and only have my valet key. Would it be possible to get an fob programmed for my car if I don't have the main key?

the fob and the key are two whole different systems. You can program the fob in the comfort of you home and they are really cheap to find on ebay ($30.) The actual key will need to have to be programmed by a dealer however. With that being said, because the fob and key are independent systems one can function without the other and you could just carry around a loose fob if you want the keyless entry

To program a new key fob:
Cycle the car ignition from 1 to 2 and back to 1 (3 is start, do not start.) do this 5 times and you should hear a chime from the security system. Immediately after the chime, push any button on the fob and you should hear another chime indicating that programming was successful

 

Having a car with the immobilizer system and ONLY 1 KEY is your call.
If and/or when you lose that key you will be at the mercy of the wrecker/towing company and dealer to get your car back to running.

The lost key will now be able to open and start your car unless it is deleted from the KTM.
The lost key will always be able to open the door but will be disabled from engine start if you configure new key transponders and delete that one from the system.
