Cool Fogging up!

'Morning, All;

Just recently I've had a problem with keeping my windows clear when the outside temp. is around the freezing point and I have the system in "Auto", and I'm beginning to suspect that the Ventilation system is stuck in the "Recirculation" mode. I have to switch to full "Defrost" to de-fog the windows. Where is the gate that controls the air source located? Can I see it in operation?

Thanks for any input.

Check behind the cabin filter. It is probably stuck shut. Mine did the same thing so all I had to do is prop the door open a little and now everything is fine.

Maybe you should replace the fiter while your at it. The door is right behind the filter. Just prop it open a little with something like a pencil. make sure you fasten the pencil to something so it doesn't get sucked in. It's ok to break some of the square mesh out to get to it. When summer comes around you might want to prop it shut to get max. cool air. There is probably a way to fix the door so it works properly but I didn't figure that out yet. I bought my new filter here.http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13652722305762

Done, and done! Thanks again Jac. My 'door' was closed tight, and there was moderate resistance to opening it, and it showed no sign of wanting to drop closed again from any open position. There is a 'click' from inside the dash whenever I select "Recirc" (or not) on the climate control buttons, but no resultant action from the door. Either the servo is weak, or a linkage is disconnected, but I'm guessing THAT bunch is well buried under the panel controls. I hardly ever use "Recirc", so I'll just leave well enough alone.
