I had a similar issue recently with my ABS and I refuse go give in till I finally resolved it.

Your right - if you took this to the *********** if would have cost you and arm and a leg.

 

Thanks! Got ASE certified in high school (about 40 years ago OMG)although never took a course. One of the weirdos who instinctively knows how to fix anything once you know the pieces. That and a determined cuss! There are many good mechanics out there, but quite a few parts changers. I was in a discussion with the latter a few years ago and asked him if he actually every rebuilt an engine. He answered no. I just shook my head and thought he's no legitimate mechanic. And I pity the person that gets his bill when he is stumped.
