Does anyone have TSB 50103 for fixing the front seat rocking problem? Also, what is the "stabilization kit" that allegedly fixes this problem?

Did reasd something on this a while back by someone who had had it done to fix the problem.

Why dont you go to contact your dealer and ask them if this TSB is relevant to your car (last 6 digits of your chassis number) and if so they will take it in and carry out the TSB for free?

 

Well Buck, I asked the dealer and he reminded me that my car was out of warranty. The fact that the car only has 10K miles and was purchased at that dealership by the previous owner (a family member) didn't mean squat.

All I could extract from him was the stabilization kit included a "small curved bracket" and cost $80 per seat. They didn't have it in stock, so I still can't even go take a look.

I'm still hoping someone has a copy of the TSB ... perhaps I could fab up something for far less $$.

 

That sucks! They built the car with a problem and won't fix it...man I hate that...I should call up mine and ask them about it as well, see what they tell me! The problem is that there is no way to accelerate from a stop without jerking the whole car forward! I've tried to easily leave from a stop but its soo hard and the people behind will start honking if I went slower to keep the car from lunging forward! I noticed how much its like this when I let my mom drive the car...there was no easing in it was gas pedal gas pedal and more gas pedal...wish my seats didn't do that though...

My seat squeaked when I got the car. WD-40 and 7 months later, it hasn't squeaked since then.

 

The squeak I get I don't think could be fixed with wd...my seat actually rocks and makes a squeak. I called my dealership a while ago and they said the tsb would be fixed under warranty but other than that its out of my pocket! But he did mention that there was a kit for the seat that I could purchase!

 

talked to the dealer a week ago, said that it contains a spriing and a small bracket. dealer was really cool, said that the fix is a joke and the seat still squeaks and rocks after fix, they fixed after 02. Bill

 

Did they say how much dennis? I want it but didn't look into it...I'll be selling soon and I'd hate to tell the potential buyer "It's a jag thing!" I understand that but someone buying it wouldn't! Know what I'm saying?!

I thought i was the only one with this problem. I get the rocking motion as well, i was thinking of taking out the seat and checking it out.

How come they don't fix this as there are many people that have this problem? Just curious, I also understand that every car has its problems!

Yeah i know! It's been nice driving the 07 x I have for loaner as the seats don't rock...but the seats aren't the sport seats and I hate them! Can't wait to get my car back!
