Default fuse blowing

i have a 2008 jaguar 2.2 auto diesel with a problem of drivers side main beam light not working i put a new bulb H1 in and still not working i then thought could it be a fuse which when i checked had blown number 29 or 30 i replaced the fuse 10 amp horray it was working the following night light not working really struggling with this issue any help would be very grateful
Also on another issue the battery light comes on sometimes but not all the time new alternator fitted 6 months ago when i shut the engine off the battery light goes off and perhaps it will not come back on for days or weeks but car drives ok also i would be grateful of your help in this other problem

Kind Regards

Battery cable is going bad. Increased resistance gets greater over time and the frequency of the light illumination will increase. SEARCH for many, many threads here on problem and solutions. It's a marvelous tool!
