Hey Jag Family. I have a small annoying issue with my passenger door not opening from the outside some times. Some times it open fine and others.. not so much. I've physically closed the latch on the door and opened the latch disengaged every time but as soon as i close the door the Russian roulette begins. I'm somewhat of a do-it-yourselfer to a degree. So if it's something not that hard to try, I'll appreciate it.

Search the board - this is a common problem. I ended up having 3 of my latch mechanisms replaced under warranty.

 

I am glad I am not the only one. My 02 X-type just started doing this occasionally. I was wondering about taking off the door panel to see if some of the mechanisms in there need to be cleaned/lubed or something.

check out the x type faq quick links.....there's a FAQ for the step by step door panel removal that'll get you in to have a look. There's a problem with the linkages on the older models if I remember correctly. This was fairly well documented some time ago although I can't seem to find a FAQ for it.
Maybe someone would do a write up with pics and we will FAQ it for future reference.....its always cropping up

 

i can any one help my x type air bag light flashes 4times then goes out for a few seconds then flashes twice the out for a few seconds then stays on
