Probably coming apart in the back.

Open the cover and look at the aluminum spring. Should be even upper and lower. We replace alot of the springs and the latch housing. Dealer only for this one too.....they will know what you are asking for.

mine did this. There are two metal things that grab the door. I just spread them apart a lil and it fixed the problem.

mine did it aswell. the metal "things" got all bent up soI had to fix them. Then my actual latch release broke. Somehow a spring fell off and it wouldn`t re-latch. I had to manually open my gas cap on my last jag

How do you manually open it?
I thought it only opened by the lever

The latch that connects to the door was gone on mine. The cable attached to the lever was completely disconected. and somehow the spring was missing.

Also the 2 metal "things" that always get bent out of place were pushed in all the way. So they didnt push the door open

That left my gas door just attached by the hinges. The hinges were stiff so the door wasnt flapping around it just stayed closed untillI slid a fingernail under it and opened it at the pump.

My metal springs are so bent and warped, I have no idea which way they should be going?

anyone have a picture of their gas cap so I can bend the metal wires appropriately?

thanks in advance!

adjust them so they act as a spring.
