Default Gear Box Fault/ shifter

I have a great box fault notification also they shifter isn't reading drive or low gears,, neither is park from time to time. I can only move car in reverse, drive attempts to move but it's stuck. Looking for any tips.

Just a hunch, but I guess worth checking out:
Check out the penultimate picture of this very recent thread of mine...:

Might pay to initially check the selector shaft into your transmission as they have been known to get rusty and bind up in the support bushing, making it very tight to move.
Depending on your location and the environment the car has been driven in, some cars experience higher levels of corrosion.
Also incorrect adjustment of selector cable can cause oddities getting the J Gate out of sync with the trans movement, but you will want to make sure the selector shaft is moving freely first.

Here is a thread you might like to ready through to see if it possibly helps you.
