Am having a problem with an x type 2.5 v6 2001 y reg 105000 miles auto box gearshifter as suddenly become problematic on occasion will not engage D or 4th sometimes does not seem to engage d properly only with firm hand box seems fine changeing gear as should Seems electrical am contemplating changing the SHIFTER as stated not a box problem will still drive forever no leaks no sliping bands just annoying gear shifter any ideas or as anyone had the same problem with this with there x type.

 

You need to make sure the range selector is adjusted properly.

Read through the TSB if you are unsure how to do this.

O k will do had an inclination it was possibly linkage adjustment where do i find tsb on here sorry can be bit thick sometimes
