Getting a new cable into the door
Hi ladies and gents.
I'm in the process of adding lots of extras on the cat and wondered if anybody has come up with a way of getting 2 extra cables into the front doors, and if yes how did you do it?

Hex, I have played a lot in various car doors. Just for reference, on any new car, getting things through that boot between the door and the car is a royal PITA. I have found 2 things that tend to work. I am sure that there are variations of what I am mentioning. The first one is what I will call the screwdriver method. In short, you find yourself a long, thin screw driver that you tape the wires to and after you pull the boot out of the door and door frame, you push the wire through the rubber boot so the boot is sitting on the screw driver and you can see both ends of the screw driver. From there, you can undo the tape, grab the wires and then pull the screw driver out. Then you simply pull the wires through the boot as much as needed to make them reach where you want.
The second way is to use what is called a "fish tape". It comes in 2 forms. The one is a stiff metal piece with a metal hook on the end (do not recommend these as getting them back out is a pita). The other style is pretty much a long fiberglass rod that you tape the wire too. Then you do the same thing like what you do with the screw driver method.
I have always found that trying to leave the boots in the door and door jam just makes things that much more difficult and you cussing up a storm. Bite the bullet, pop off the rubber boots and have the flexibility that you can get.

I've had a look at the door rubber and it seems to terminate at each side of the bulkhead with some sort of pin connecting system. Doesn't look like I can squeeze a cable through this to the cockpit, more like I'm going to have to find some sort of matching pin to add to the block???
