good afternoon all . i hope you can help . i have just got a 2001 x type jag and i do love it but when i got it the radio was not working so i got one off ebay , i have put it in and just like the old one its asking for the code but none of the buttons work . i have been told that i have to sync it to the steering wheel is this right ? please help.

 

Yup, you need a code. The car thinks the radio was stolen. Your local Jag dealer should be able to get the code for you, albeit after paying them your first born and your soul.
Find an independent Jag guy and get the code from him. It'll be cheaper. And then when you ever disconnect the battery you'll be alble to revive your radio, which will be put to sleep again.
I remember someone on here published a shortcut code to get around the Jag code... Anyone?

FYI.... US Jags don't have radio codes. I guess radios don't get stolen here like they do in Europe... Last resort, buy a radio from a US seller?

My dealer asked me to email picture of title and my driver license and gave me code.
Another dealer just asked for VIN and gave me code.
If radio was replaced you have to give them radio serial number, you have to remove it to see.
Call dealer.
