Good News Bad News - TPS and Gearbox Fault
Hi all,
My 02 X-type has been acting up for a long time throwing p0121 codes. I did some research on here and decided to change out the TPS Sensor. I found a company online called AIP Electronics AIP Electronics - THE Source for Ignition Distributors, Engine Management Sensors and More! that sells the TPS separately from the throttle body. I'm a woman and although I understand mechanical things, I am not however a mechanic so I had my mechanic replace the TPS yesterday. It did not fix the gearbox fault issue. Got the gearbox fault, but checked for codes and it didn't store any.
I had him drive it and he said it's slipping in 2nd. He recommended that I change out the transmission fluid. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what to do next. Do I need to start saving for a new transmission? If that is the case does anyone in Las Vegas know of anyone reliable?? HELP!
