Did a bit of wrapping this morning and a new leather gaiter :-)

Did you remove the airbag panel or do it on the car?

Removed it all, airbag panel easy enough to do, seperate to the airbag so screw driver behind and prise it off, pin holding strap on hit with screw driver and hammer from the door end

Front panel on ashtray is easy to do as it pops off, cover it and pop back on

Used hair dryer to warm the vinyl to do the corners

Around the gaiter, removed the gaiter, removed staples unclipped two halves, wrapped outer and fitted new gaiter and used holt melt glue to keep the two halves together instead of trying to staple them

No problems or difficulties anywhere

I used the 3M product which is supurb quality and has very tiny pin holes all over it so easier to apply and remove air bubbles

DO IT!!!!!!!

Easy enough to find, couple of seconds found this in UK, so i'm sure easy enough to find in US

I like the look, because of the dark colored interior. Nice job! But wait, your steering column is on the wrong side! (My attempt at humor.) Very nice - seriously.

hehehe - I actually agree with you, When I came to the states on hols it felt natural from the minute i started driving on the "wrong" side of the road, it was when I got back to the UK it felt weird driving

Funny..as a USPS Letter Carrier, I drive a mail truck with right hand drive on the right side of the road...I believe I would become confused whilst driving in the UK...


M9G - What size vinyl did you/would you order to complete this task?

Again, the transformation looks brilliant!

I would say about a metre x 500mm

Just measure each section and add a bit

Just check, I didnt need to as had loads of wrap but if its a bit tight I think you might be able to get the front of the ashtray out of the section you cut out for the clocks and the piece for the little plastic strip where the hazzard warning button is you'll get out the section you cut out for the heater blowers.

My advice is take your time and definately warm the corners up with a hair dryer.

Just tried to do my dash yesterday and got a ton of issues. I used white carbon fiber which really makes the issues more apparent, but the corners are very hard to do. How were you able to make them look so clean?

I just used a hair dryer to bend it over the corners - I did also cut a square out of each corner and slits along any curved edge

Have a look here - How to wrap your interior trim with 3M carbon fiber vinyl

nice job, I'll Wrap my interior too, but for now just finished my hood,roof,wheels and trunk with 3m 1080 gloss black metallic. I recomend this 1080 vinyl very easy to apply and look like a real metallic paint job.
