Got hit in the rear today waiting to make a turn
I got hit by my friend in a 2015 jag XF. It seemed like a hard hit especially with me being in a turn position. We got out and no damage to either car. I was amazed, like I said it seemed like a hard hit, it made me hit the back of my seat. Luck on my side today especially when a friend hits you.
that was already fixed, he even said I thought you were making a right on red, yea I was when the cars stopped coming....lol
he was on the phone...I texted him and said man my back hurts.....I have metal in my back already from surgery....

"He was on the phone"...are there no laws against using hand-held electronic devices while driving where you live? Because there should be. I am assuming that your friend was not so obtuse as to be breaking the law when he hit you.
Distracted driving is irresponsible, dangerous and well, I could go on...having narrowly missed death on 3 occasions I am just a bit sensitive to this issue - once almost hit while riding my bike, by a driver talking on his cell phone while driving the wrong way on a one-way street! When other drivers honked at him he put his car in reverse, and STILL talking on the phone reversed down around a corner. Stupidity is almost epidemic.
Drive OR phone, not both at once!

Despite all the crocodile tears from the carriers, there is an easy
way to prevent at least extended use of cell phones while moving.
Just disable cell handoffs. The cell tower you start the call on is
the cell tower that must be used for the duration of the call.
Just requires turning it off in the supervisory software.
And the ***** to do it.

You mention it felt like a pretty hard hit even though there was no damage. A good example of why it's good to were seat belts. Seeing as there was no damage it must have been less than 5mph, yet still felt pretty hard. Imagine if you are walking/running at 5mph into a brick wall. Would hurt really bad, so imagine what could happen at 30-40mph or more without a seat belt.
also why are car makers putting text and phone options in their cars. Just because you are not holding the device doesn't mean you are concentrating on driving. whats the difference between a cell speaker phone and talking or texting on your dashboard. They need to make up their minds is it legal or not. i do not talk on phone while driving. I may send or answer a text at a red light
I use talk to text on my cell and sometimes it's wrong, so don't you think it may be texting the wrong words in the car too. I'm sure people that have that check their texts before they send

Glad to hear you weren't hurt and there was no damage.
