Grounds for serious abuse...
So when I bought my Jag, I insisted on a warrantly.. what with its reputation and all..
But the guy was far away and used a warranty company that was unknown to the local dealer. I asked the dealer if they would sell me a warranty. They said sure.. I even had them quote verballyit and they had a better deal anyway. SO i bought the car and went straight to the dealer to get the warranty.
SUddenly they needed to do a COMPRESSION test on the motor. because they did not sell the car, the warranty company insisted.
Then to do the compression test involved removing the intake manifold. that would be 5 hours labour at 110 an hour.
that made the warranty too expensive.
I even went to a couple other independant guys and same story.
So I ended up without warranty.
Now with my recent wars with the dealer I decided to take on another repair,,,,, guess what ,, it involves removing the intake manifold....
I have been putting this off for a while cuz I have not had the inclination to spend that much time on it..
Well today I decided to do it.
Started at 10:00 by reading the proceduce on the JTIS.. then went to the car... and I had the intake manifold on my kithen counter by 10:20!!
Totally crazy.. I am not even super fast working..
So for all this BS and the crap about warranty... and compression tests.........
THEY CAN ALL ROT IN HELL..... My kingdom for one honest repair place.

Gotta feel bad for you Bo.........man that sucks!
I've followed your story from the start so know most of it, and it stinks.
Your still one of the lucky ones cos you've got quite a bit of knowledge so can repair yourself (although you shouldn't have to, I know)
Hopefully you'll get it sorted sooner rather than later an it'll all be good.
