Default handbrake and slanted wheel

I curbed my x type quite bad a few week ago and blew out both tyres. Ive just noticed my rear wheel is slanting in at the top slightly. And it also feels like the back end sort of wiggles asif the wheel is bent, but ive had the tyre changed and wheel balanced so it can't be bent also its always slanting in at the top and not visably wobbly when I drive just wonky. Can anyone please point me in the rite direction to whats likely to be causing the wonky wheel and also would that cause the lurching feeling on roundabouts or is there another prob I should be looking for?

Sounds like you have bent the upper control arm. Below is a link to a forum thread by Thermo for replacing the rear upper control arms with an adjustable one.

As to the rims, even a bent one can be balanced, doesn't mean it will run true. Have the rims checked for runout and be sure they aren't bent,

mancjag, you may have a few different issues. First off, just because you replaced the tire and had them balance it, does not mean that they took the time to check the trueness of the rim (ie, how straight the rim is). Most tire shops do not have the equipment to do this check.

As for the wobbliness that you are feeling, it can be a few different things. The first check I would do is in the middle of a roundabout, be in the outside lane and step on the gas like you were going to get ahead of the person in front of you. Did the rear end of the car feel like it was going to step out on you? (it won't, but if you are not anticipating it, it can be a little disconcerting) If yes, then most likely you have damaged the lower/forward arm on the rear suspension.

If you can look at the rear tires and see that they are leaning in, then you will probably also need to change the upper control arm like is mentioned in the link posted above.

If you have additional questions about the rear suspension, let me know.
