Heat/HVAC issue
Well, here is my problem. It happened last year too and I just dealt with it but, this winter I would like to enjoy my heat. Well here is my issue:
I can turn the Climate control to 90* but it wont blow hot air unless the car is moving. Last winter, I wouldstart my car up and let it run in order to clear off some of the ice and snow etc. However, when I would get in my car it was blowing cold air. Only whenI starting to drive the car did hot air start to blow. This doesnt matter if its on defrost or on regular heat. Is myClimate control unit dying or is It something to do with the heater core? thanks

Before you go replacing the climate control unit, i would check the temp sensor under the drivers panel. There is a temp sensor with a fan blowing over it. ensure that the fan is operational (key on) and if there are dust bunnies on it, kill them all. If that checks out, It's your climate control.....seen a few on e-bay for 20 bucks, i would jump on it......

RE: Heat/HVAC issue
Most likely problem is sediment in the heater core that gives insufficitnt coolant flow at low engine rpm until water pump speeds up along woth coolant flow.
Flusg system and disconnect heater core hose and blow compressed air thru which helps to blow all the gunk out . The other common problem for A/C and heat being poor is fresh air blend door motor broken and door sticks open
Way to check this is remove pollen filter and with system running turn on recirc , door should be closed if not its broken and the system will always be fighting cooling or heating outside air
Brutal , thanks for your tips but please keep your caps off

Temp sensor is fine, I cleaned it today. However, it still blows cool air.
When I am in motion the heat will blow fine. When I come to a stop or at idle, almost immediately it starts to blow cool air. I have no trouble codes showing so I dont think its a vaccume line issue.
The coolant appears to be at the proper level.
I guess a trip to the dealer is the next option. I be half of the climate control modules on ebay are POS's if they are selling for 20 bucks.

Have you had any work done to the cooling sys? AKA, system flush, water pump replaced...etc?? And to be sure, your engine is reaching proper engine temp??
To me it sounds like one of the following: Loose water pump belt (the easiest of these to fix) Stuck thermostat in the closed position, or Possibly air bubbles in the system, or your controller went bad.
Double check your coolant (do not check when hot) ensure it is at the correct mark and if you had to add more then a 3 qts, bleed the system to ensure all air bubbles are gone.

No work was done to the coolant system since I have owned it but, thats not saying much since I have only had it for a little over a year.
Where exactly are the heater hoses? Do you mean the lines heading to the heater core?
I am pretty sure the recir door is fine. Never had a problem with air coming in when it wasnt supposed too.
