Help!!! Glow plug light keeps illuminating
So I had the glow plug light keep flashing but it would do it intermittently and normally on a longish drive so I changed them for new ones thinking that would clear it but we went out again today for a drive and it kept happening mainly at around 2.5-3k rpm and whilst the engine was under load like going up hill or overtaking another vehicle and it goes in to limp mode.
Switching the ignition off then back on again clears it and it could be ok again for another 10 minutes or so then it would do it all again.
I know it has a boost leak from somewhere but I have been unable to locate that (I think it could be pipe on intercooler)
It has 135800miles on the clock and I have recently done a service on the engine (glow plugs, filters and oil) all in the last 800 miles and it did have a blank plate on the egr valve which I have now removed and I gave the egr valve a good clean as there was alot of build up in it so that is clean
I'm just wondering what I have missed

Rich,
The flashing glow plug light means it has gone in to limp mode.
Fuel pressure dropping on demand, turbo vanes sticking and turbo actuator fault can all cause this.
Ideally you need to read the fault codes with a scanner to narrow it down.

A couple of weeks ago I removed the egr valve and removed the blanking plate and cleaned inside the egr as it was full of crud and also at the same time I replaced the glow plugs
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated
Richard.
