Installed double din and now the car won't start. Check engine light is on with code P1603 twice and P1000. The 'gear fault' message is not on. Everything is connected. Car turns on but no crank. I can read the mileage and shift out of Park. Please help me.

2003 X-type 3.0 automatic. No stock navigation.

 

Update: Disconnected the battery completely both negative/positive for an hour and car turned on. Cleared codes with scanner, seems fine now. Most likely from a low battery (12.40v).

 

Possibly, but that's not terribly low and an unusual code to throw.
Keep checking the codes until P1000 (DTC cycle incomplete) turns to P1111 (DTC OK).

 

Have the battery checked for amperage. I had a battery read over 12v, but the amps were below 200. Bad battery.
