Default HID Fogs - who has them?

i know they take H1 bulbs but the H1 stock bulb plugs into some adaptor then plugs into the stock harness, then into the for housing the bulb and adaptor go.
so what bulb did you guys use? the only thing i could think of was to hollow out the adapter and put the H1 HIDs in it and silicone it together.

what did you guys do? does another standard bulb type plug in and fit without any issues?

i really want to put hid fogs in my gfs car, she loves how they look on my car and to be honest they have a amazing light output, wher the jag stock bulb only goes 2 feet on a good day...

My brother actually put HIDs in his fogs on his s-type. It looks very nice with HID headlights. I know he bought an HID kit that comes with the ballast n all the proper things in order not to burn out the harness by rigging the socket and such. Cost him like $200? Very nice addition.

I bought a 9006 kit from DDM and shaved the three tabs a little. Then you can eliminate the H1 adapter kit and the bulbs turn in like OEM. You only need to shave down the depth (thickness front to back) of the three tabs. I even made the leading edges sharper, so they tighten as you turn them. The passenger side is a total PITA to install - since there is very little space - so master the driver's side before you modify and install the passenger side.

Mike, I did exactly like you described. I used a 1/2" bit to drill out the center of the bulb base and then oblonged it slightly using a rotary file. From there, I could just squeeze the bulb through the hole. I then used some silicon to hold the bulb in place. It is also held in place by the bulb base too. 18 months later and not a problem. I am loving the look of the HID heads with the HID fogs along with LED running lights.
