Default Hockey puck for jacking up xtype?

I have seen suggestions other places to use a hockey puck with a cutout to cradle the jacking point underneath the unibody and cushion the floor Jack. Has anyone tried this on an xtype? I see where people use wood blocks but I'm thinking the hockey puck might be a good option. Thoughts?

I'd use wood or some other more suitable item. The puck might suddenly split.

Or jack somewhere that doesn't need a puck/etc.

Don't put any grain the wood may have (some don't, such as plywood) parallel to the thing that would split it (go for 90 degrees). You can't do the equivalent with non-wood.

Personally I like to find a hefty bit of metal on the car and then at most you could crush the wood a little. Can't fail suddenly.

(Of course use axle (jack) stands as well.)

Going with what JagV8 just said I think,,

I had some of these jack blocks still left over from when I had my X, that I made out of a 2x4..The arrows indicated the wood grain direction..the notch I cut for the frame rail, is perpendicular to the grain...They worked great.
