Default hood insulation

Hood insulation is sagging. Junk yards have no good ones. Is it needed or can I remove it and run with out?

Are the push pins still attached or have they fallen out?

I wouldn't run without it. It may mess the paint up on the hood.

Ive had mine off for a year with no paint issues (checked with a paint gauge). Currently I have a STR that can fry an egg on the aftercoolers too.

Get in touch with Gonzo here on the forum https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/o...55/#post759051 he makes new hoodliners at a good price www.hoodliners.net you'll have to send him a PM as his online store is still "offline" as he is not back 100%.

+1- great recommendation.

The hood insulation is for sound reduction only, no worries about paint.

Not worried about sound so much as paint. I'll look into replacing it when the guy is back to health. I found his web site and it said it was down. I'll replace it eventually. Plus add leaper to it. Just it sags horrible. Push pins are in place. Idk how but it lost its rigidity. It was a Jersey car originally..... lol
