Default Poor performance x-type 2.1

G'day all.
Have a couple of issues with my 05 x-type 2.1 auto.

The car does not perform well at all when the engine is cold. As I drive down the road in the morning, the revs fluctuate as if its trying to "work things out". This goes away fairly quickly but it's just not right.

If I accelerate hard after slowing to an almost stop, it will often hesitate, and the check engine light may flick on and off. This is even worse when the roads are wet, and the traction control is obviously trying to do it's bit.
However, if I accelerate heavily from a standing start, the issue doesn't occur.

There are no codes showing up (except p1111, which I'm told is normal). I have had the intake manifold off and replaced all gaskets. Has all new vacuum lines, and I have tested for leaks and haven't found anything.

I bought a new air intake temp sensor last week (aftermarket), as I though it may be causing my problems. Instead it has made things worse. Now it won't start on the first turn of the key, it stalls after 2 seconds, then I have to restart it.

Any ideas... I've had enough.
Cheers
Rob

I had exact same problem in another car of mine after an engine transplant, inspect the idle control valve (may require cleaning),

Could be the MAS if it got banged around, can be very sensitive if the car has a lot of miles on it.

Thanks Bryan. I didn't mean air temp sensor, it was the MAS that I changed and made things worse.
Makes no difference now tho. Someone decided to smack into the rear end of my car this morning so its a write-off
Appreciate your input tho.

Choppers84,
Sad to hear that mate, hope you get what you can salvage, it sounds bad!
Hope the insurance is good for you and stay in touch!
1st verdict is from the rear he's at fault!
Remember any keys or personal stuff, it's too easy when under pressure or angst to forget about things in the heaat of the moment!
Glad you walked away, I hope? Good luck Buddy! Stu
