Hood latch grommet will not move!

Default Hood latch grommet will not move!

:how do I get this grommet off? I have everything done per the video but the grommet at firewall will not allow me to pull new hood release through. Any suggestions welcome

Finally have the grommet moved BUT there appears to be a metal nut of some sorts keeping my old release latch from coming out. I have it working back for but always stopping in same spot!

the cable has a brass/steel ferrule that sops the cable pulling through. release the cable from the latches and pull it back through the rubber grommet, feed the new one from the cabin out and the push the rubber grommet onto the cable a little bit of talcum powder on the cable helps it to slide through the grommet.

The chris fix way per the video, for me was a joke!
