how does bestbuy add an audio aux input?
Evening all..I,d like to add an aux input for an mp3 player. I have read on here that bestbuy can do it to the stock system.
Can anyone explain how they do it?
I,d rather do it myself than have a stranger do it. I have a lot of experience in adding aftermarket audio.
How easy would it be to swap the amp also...I have a 4 channel Mcintosh car amp sitting on a shelf....and it keeps staring at me with teary vu meters...lol

The only method I have heard of Best Buy doing is using an FM Modulator. This is quite different from the convention FM Transmitter, as it is hard wired into the FM antenna IN of the stock stereo and can add aux in functionality or even an iPod cable to charge and play at the same time. I actually bought the kit from Best Buy and installed it myself, it's very simple and straightforward and the sound quality is really good. Although not as good as CD, the sound is akin to that of an HD Radio IMO.
