How to program x-type 2004 transponder key
Hi , i had been searching for weeks know, and i wasnt able to find any information about programming transponder keys for my Jaguar X-type.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE KEYFOB please dont post the solution that is all over the internet, thi is about a 2 valet transponder keys without Remote.
Im asking for a Jaguar especialist to help me out, is there any way to program the transponder so this keys can start the engine? (other than the obvious to go to the dealer, because there is no dealer in my state).
I have a OBD-II scanner for my laptop, and one original key fob, and i want to program to keys with transponder.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

OK, I've got to weigh in here as I just went through getting a key cut today, though programming is still pending.
I got my key cut in my area, Puget Sound, by Guardian Security. It was $40.00 plus tax. I was informed by the tech that the key blade portion that came with the fob is a blade for the Valet key, which has a slightly different tip. This can complicate issues. It sure did in my case.
So, knowing all of this, if I had to do it all over again, I would:
1) See if I could get the transponder on EBay and get the blade from the folks who will cut it.
2) If I insisted on getting the blade elsewhere, I'd make damn sure I got the
correct blade, getting the vendor to guarantee this. Closing the Valet keyblade in the current fob is problematic at best.
3) Be sure of the policies of the folks cutting my blade. Guardian Security does not guarantee their work if you bring in a keyblade gotten elsewhere.
I do hope all of this information helps at least one person save a buck or two.

If you had two working keys you could program a third but not with one. I've been in the same boat for a while. I've got a perfectly cut key on a brand new FOB that is useless at the moment.
Do call around to your local locksmiths though. I found a few that could program mine. Funny thing was that of those who said they could, they wanted MORE than the dealer. Ranging from $150 - $190 just to program it. I found one shop that said they could for $65, drove it to them and no dice. Their computer only had an S-Type listed and no X after all. Could it have worked? Maybe.. Was I going to take a chance? No...
I'll be heading to the dealer for the $100 - $125 to get it done.
Good luck to you!
