Question How to take of rear headrests?

I dont have the fold down rear seats in the car, and was wondering if there is an easy way to take off the rear headrests without having to take the seats out. I know some clips have to be replaced if the seats are removed, so trying to avoid that. Any input is appreciated.

There is a button on the escutcheon where the rods go into the top of the seat. On one side is a button that you push and on the opposite side is a slot where I use a coin to push in. I suspect that these actions release a captive mechanism that holds the headrest in place. When you do these two actions simultaneously, you will be able to pull the headrest out of the seat. It is a bit awkward to do but can be done. Hope this helps.

Hi , like jj says , with a bit of brute force you can ease the rear headrests out with the seats in situ. Bit tight against the rear window but not too bad , just a case of pressing the release section on the collars that grip the shaft then easing them up while tilting them towards you .

Good luck ,

Mike.

Thanks for the adive guys, ill give it a try. I didnt think there was enough space to get them out, but will see if the cushioning will go in some and see if they come out.

Unfortunately I dont have the folding seats, so only option to fold down is to completely remove.

I ended up getting the headrests off w/o taking out the seats. As JJ and Mike said, just had to use some force to get them out. took about a minute for each one.
