I am an Idiot!

I am an Idiot!
So I went out to Walmart to buy some oil as I am due for an oil change next week, and also picked up windshield wipers because they were on sale. I came hoem and decided might as well install them and as I was taking off my passanger wiper the arm slid out op my hand and came crashing down on the windscreen forming a small chip and a spider crack. Thje actual impact point is about the size of a pebble 2mm maybe? and the spider lines spread away ranginf anywhere from 1 inch to 10 inches. I am thinking this cannot be fixed... has anyone ever experienced this before?
I also dont want to go through insurance as my deductable is $500 and I dotn want my insurance to go up. Ohh and to make matters worse I have a heated windscreen. Does anyoen knwo what I am lookign for in terms of cost to replace? Does anyone know where I can get a used glass pretty cheap? I am located in Canada city of Toronto
Also I have the auto headlight feature and I believe there is a sensor in the glass by the rear view mirror. Is this correct? Can I remove the rear view from the glass?
Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.

RE: I am an Idiot!
To answer your questions:
Yes, you can remove the rear view mirror.
But i would first try a windshied repair facility. They inject the crack with some glue based formula. It kinda just "hides" the crack so you cant see it. i did it once and it came out great. Completely forgot about it and wife didn't even know it was there. Cost 20 bucks but saved me 250!

As racer said go to a glass shop and see what they can do. I'd suggest letting them know you have a used one in your back pocket if they can't help (so hopefully they'll try to help and earn anything they can from you instead of you getting the used one!) My non-heated windscreen from a shop in Michigan was around $500 and I also had the automatic headlights.
