I was Bad
This Wednesday my wife found another reason to roll her eyes, when she opened the garage door. I went to Western Illinois and brought back a 99 XK8, to keep the 83 Porsche 928S, and 07 X Type company. Of course it is Green, LOADED, and a convertible.....bad part, it sat for a couple of years and the 2 front seats are ripper city.
I ordered the updated tensioners for the timing chains, a coil pack, spark plugs, and filters, changed all the fluids, greased the CV joints, and am gradually getting all the electrics to work. I am waiting to paint it at my buddy's house with a spray booth in July. It is rust free.
The X Type is finished except for the rear quarter correct white paint and that is not going to happen until the temp gets over 50 degrees, because I am not a fan of having the garage furnace going full bore, while I am painting. I will heat up the garage to around 90, and shut off the furnace until I am through with the painting, and wait until the temp gets to around 65 inside, until I turn it back on. I will be using a heat lamp a few feet away from the quarter in the mean time. Life is good.....I love these cars. I will be changing the Avatar sometime this weekend, when I bring the X Type back home.....
Be cool....Mike
