Did you replace the springs ? I think your pics suggest me that this was a serious job more than springs involved

No I was putting in a new motor, I put the springs in years ago, that was an easy job.

I will now check my oil every fill up. I guess with these cars checking it every 3rd fill up isn't safe enough

Please, more details (unless I missed them somewhere else...). What year, what happened to the motor, where did you find the new one, any lessons learned from the process so far, are we have'n fun yet, etc....

Sorry everyone, the fun was sarcasm, it was not fun. Story is this: I am the original owner of this '02 2.5 liter. At 80k it spun two bearings and threw a rod due to a leaking oil pan gasket. For ***** n giggles I got a quote from the local dealer to fix it (new motor) and guess the price....wait for it.... 12 grand!! Lol so I started doing my research and found a local longblock (whole motor without some of the accessories) out of a wrecked '03 with only 40k miles. I picked it up for an even thousand bucks. I even got the wrecking yard to throw in the 40k water pump for free. While the motor was apart I searched online and found a screaming deal on a clutch disk for about 120 bucks and a throwout bearing for 56 bucks on Amazon (retail for this part is about 120 bucks as well). Bought a new serpentine belt from Napa for 40 bucks as well as a new battery (car sat for a while after it died). All-in-all I split the mileage of the drive train (minus the glass transfer case) in half for about 1400 bucks....way less than the dealer's quote of 12 g's!!!!!

I still need to add all of the fluids/lubes and need help from you guys for a master list of fluids and where to buy them, keep in mind that I wanna change the drive train fluids as well. I am trying to make this car bulletproof for awhile lol, pulling that motor isn't fun.
