hi i have a small knocking coming from my x type this has happened since had tow bar fitted any help jusy looking for some info to check it out thx

 

Have you looked at the exhaust?

 

mildo, since it seems to have started since you installed a tow bar, I would be looking at the tow bar installation and seeing if you have something coming in contact with the tow bar, leading to your noise issue. From there, a better description of the knocking would be needed to help narrow down where it is coming from. Are we talking about a valve knock, something that sounds like someone ringing a really small bell, someone beating the hell out of the body of the car, etc.

 

I have always thought that the AWD Jag X-Type was meant to be trailered, not towed.

(at least not more than needed to put it on a trailer!)

Did you actually use the tow bar after it was installed?

 

The tow bar is on the back to tow trailer, caravan etc, not for towing the car.
