Default I need a new battery...

I was in the process of upgrading my fogs to hid and for some reason now the car will not start. The battery has been showing sign of weekness and will not take a jump. Car just clicks when I try to start it and lots of flashing lights. I am not completely convinced its the battery but I guess its a good place to start. Some mornings it had trouble cranking especially after sitting all weekend. Either way - does anyone know the right battery - my label is torn up and I can not tell. I have read that pepbopys sell Bosch and it is an exact fit, but when I went in there they told me it was a dealer part - yeah right!

I don't know the brand of your OEM battery but I would say you should go for Varta ,this is what I do use in my rides

Christo, according to the JTIS CD, it states that you should have a battery with an 80 Ah capacity with 680 CCA. Looking inside the JTIS, it gives a few part numbers for you to reference: JLM 10453, LMC 1250 AA1, LRA 1250 AA, and XR83 10655 AA.

Thanks bro, the cd was in my computer the whole time - never thought to look there. Hopefully this gets the car going...

Before you go and buy a new battery for the sakes of it, confirm it's your battery that is bad. Have you monitored the voltage w/load?

If you don't have the means (just a basic voltmeter), take the battery out and get a cycling test at a parts store. I know for a fact, Murray's and AutoZone do it for free.

Yup, took it to pepboys and have a brand new bosch in there - car started right up. Also did a mobile1 synthetic oil change - feeling pretty good about it too! hehe...

I forget the power that was left in there, but they said it might not be enough to crank the starter - or something along those line - that would explain the jump from my wife's Tahoe Z71 not being able to turn it over. But I would think that truck would have been able to do it. Oh well, just glad it started - I have a big day at work tomorrow and it would have sucked to have to tow it somewhere. All is well.
