Hi, I have a jaguar xf 2010 and I'm having some electrical issues, the car now won't start and is showing a number of faults that don't seem to be true, I've changed the battery so that's not the issue, I noticed a leak in the coolant tank that was spraying all over the engine bay so have just had that fixed, these faults started showing a while ago starting with check pedestrian system and then over time would show more and more faults so this is what made me change the battery but things have just got worse and now just won't fire up, it's saying parking brake fault now also, if anybody has any info that may help I would be very grateful, thanks

 

Based on what you are desribing, I would start with doing some voltage measurements of power to ground. Specifically, you want to do it while attempting to start the car. When starting the car, the voltage inside the cabin area should drop to around 10.5 to 11.0 VDC. If you find that it is not dropping, then we know you are not getting power to your starter and that gives us a starting point for the starting issue. If you see the voltage dropping excessively (say into the 9 VDC or lower), then we are looking at a bad main power/ground cable and that is sucking up all the power. This low voltage can also lead to the random error messages that you are getting too. I would start with measuring the voltage at say the power ports and then we can take things from there.

Bearing in mind yours is a Diesel and they weren't sold in the USA, where this Forum is based, you should also consider putting your questions to a UK based forum such as https://www.jaguarforum.com/forums/x...80%93-2015.61/ where Diesels probably outnumber the petrol models
