Intergrated phone

I have looked through my manuals and can't find anything talking about my phone button next to my nav controls. When I push the button is says something about a phone not being attached or no phone fitted or something like that. (I would go look, but I am lazy just got home from work.) Does anyone know if this is a blue tooth like connection or if a dedicated line has to be arranged for? Is there a way to do it myself or do I have to go pay those over paid pompous idiots at the dealer?

you do not have the phone installed, nor any bluetooth system. your options are as follows:

1. buy a factory kit w/ installation at the dealer - $1100-1800 depending on what they charge

2. buy a parrot bluetooth system, installation required. vary in price from $100-400, plus install. does not use factory buttons or display or speakers

3. buy a argos bt system, $850. plugs into your trunk, requires seperate purchase of jaguar factory microphone, will display on the radio and uses factory buttons and plays over factory speakers (this option only works if your X is factory pre-wired for bluetooth and you do not have the sat/nav system. contact a dealer or jaguar direct with vin number in hand to find out. most 2004 and later cars have it)

There is a blue tooth kit for the X-type ( not for the '02s ) I think you can get that installed then use *most* bluetooth phones ( the dealer has a list) in the car with proper integration of phone features.. without the Jag phone.
