Default Intermittent Keyless Entry Failure

Oddly, both of my keyless entry keys work sometimes but don't work other times, forcing me to unlock or lock the door the old fashioned way with a key sometimes. I tried replacing the battery in the key, but that didn't fix it. Any guess what the problem could be?

There is a flap-type switch in your ignition keyhole. If it does not close, your remote does not work.

It keeps you from opening the trunk or door locks, or disabling the car while it is running.

Use a bit of lock-lube [NOT WD-40] to make sure that it is freed up, and it closes when you remove the key. You can 'feel' it when you insert the key, and you should also feel it close when the key is removed.
