Default Intermittent starting issues on jag 06 plate x type 2.5 petrol model

Intermittent starting issues on 06 x type 2.5 petrol.

1: seems to be in the mornings or after car has been sat for a while but no rhyme and reason as to why.
2: takes a few go’s to start when problem is there. Makes a loud clunk before start and displays cruise not available on screen below speedometer.

i have replaced the battery and done nothing else. Any suggestions and the video is below.

thanks in advance for any assistance.

If you turn the key to the position just before starting can you hear the fuel pump hum? If not, could be your fuel pump is starting to go.

I doubt it,. Do you have any CEL on the dash or have you had the car scanned? Any other issues with the driveability??

Use a scanner via the OBD port and smart phone with the Torque app to see the fuel pressure when the no-start situation occurs. Fuel pressure should be around 3 bar (330 kPa) with the ignition in the ON position prior to engaging the starter. If the pressure is less than roughly 3 bar, the fuel pump is failing and should be replaced.

Depending on your location and OEM or aftermarket parts being used, it can be somewhere between 1,000$US to 2,200$US exclusive of taxes and any local fees.
