I can't communicate with my TCM using IDS/SDD and I'm wondering if the J-Gate is the problem. I have noticed that I no longer get an audible alarm when the gear stick is not quite fully in park ,('not in park switch' open), and I know the switch is OK. I have also noticed that the Ignition lock solenoid is not engaging although I'm not sure that has ever worked. I can remove the key even with the gear stick in reverse and the manual says you can't do that. Does anyone know what alarms; lights, seat belts etc., are standard and which might vary from country to country.
