Jag clutch problem.
Hi, I have a late 07 jag x type 2.2d. Last sept I had a new clutch fitted, I haven't used the car since, but today I found the clutch pedal is down to the floor. Before I had the new clutch the clutch pedal was perfect no issues. When I collected the car the same felt like a new clutch, but its flat to the floor. Does any one know what wrong? I tried googling it but no info. I don't know how to adjust the clutch peddle/cable.
Thanks
Thanks

I had the same problem with my 2003 2.5 petrol car. My car uses a hydraulic throwout bearing that does the pushing on the pressure plate to disengage the clutch. I need to remove the transmission to replace it.
I hope the diesel models use a better system so you do not have to pull off your transmission. My fingers are crossed.

Hi Tonyart,
Have an auto in my X-Type but had many manual cars over the years of various makes and models.
If the fluid reservoir (assuming there is one for the clutch) is not showing a level drop and you have no pedal resistance, then it is possible that some debris in the clutch line has migrated back up the line reaching the master cylinder and is holding the non-return valve open.
That will stop you building pressure in the line when pressing the pedal.
So if you are not losing fluid, then you are just not building pressure and that will most likely be master cylinder related.
