Default Jag IMTV o-rings vs LS IMTV o-rings

Does anyone know if the Jag 3.0 IMTV o-rings (pn C2S40669) are the same as the ones on the Lincoln LS/Sable 3.0 IMTV (pn 87072-S91)? It would be alot easier to go to my local Ford dealer then to pay shipping (more then the price of two o-rings!).

I just did a Lincoln LS swap in my jag and yes im 99% sure they are the same. They have the same cross ref numbers/IMT. I only used mine because i literally bought new o-rings prior to my change.

Hope this helps

Thanks. Where did you get the cross ref numbers from?

I personally havnt cross referenced them. Im basing it off another person that claims he did on his swap. And from hands on experience...everything is the exact same. Same size, connector, and everything.

Regardless...its just an o-ring, so if your that worried take one of you IMT to ford and see if it fits while your there. But either way...it will work buddy. No worries.

Here is the post for comparison, about halfway down he shows both. JUST DO IT!!! LOL. Oh and just fyi, they supposedly updated the o-rings to a green color which indicates the color that that made slightly thicker or something, be sure to get those.

I just went to my local Ford dealer and got the 87072-S91 o-rings. The package said made last month but they aren't green and the part's guy didn't know about an updated one so tomorrow I'll pull the old ones off and see if they match up.

Well, I got the top IMTV out with no problem and measured the o-rings. The new ones are smaller in diameter overall but the thickness seems about the same so I stretched it to install it and put the IMTV back in place. There is no way to replace the bottom one without removing the intake manifold! The IMTV hits the rise in the valve cover. Luckily I already bought the gaskets and spark plugs just in case I had to remove it. Time to go remove the intake!

Just out of curiosity, are you changing these on your 2003 or your 2007? I didn't think the newer cars were as prone to o-ring issues.

Actually there are a lot of people that are just slipping the o-ring over the IMT and it works awesome i gues. i however, was not aware and took my intake off, but changed my plugs anyway so i still won. lol. But yea, you can just slip it over the bottom one (from the Outside).
