alright i was driving one day,the car was fine allday it showed no signs of giving up . so when i got back home and tried to leave again it would'nt crank, not a sound all lights was off. so i replaced the battery as soon as i hooked the new battery up everything came back on except the vehicle. i took the negative off for 10min. put it on nothing, i reset the button under the passenger seat that reset my factory alarm[no after market alarm installed] but still no crank, i put a jumper between pin 3 and 5 on relay the starter started to turn but didnt craank, i get 12.4 on fuse panels, i switched r9 with r10 same size just to troubleshoot 10 and 10 worked in r9 and r9 was working because r9 works the lights and they work, i checked all fuses 3 times both panels. i also tested the starter with a multimeter and got 12.4 but when my wife tried to crank while i tested it droped to 11.2 on the big cable on the starter so i came to the conclusion that it was the starter because i thought that the 12 had to be consistent on the starter in order for it to have the right amount of torque to start the car. if u have any suggestions, im i on the money, or should i have a scan done before i install the starter, i would hate to have to pay for a tow truck, so any info you give me i would deeply appreciate that.

I too assume you have an X-Type?? Can you confirm? X-Types are notorious for losing solid connection on the negative battery terminal cable. Follow it to its grounding point and make sure it is a good connection. 12.4 should run the starter with no problems given a good ground.
I have a used X-Type starter on my shelf. I'm not into selling parts here, but I haven't had a calling or need for it in months now, so if you decide it can help you, pm me.

Yes, once you drop to 10/11 volts, you're not going to start. I forgot what you said about the condition of the battery, but if the connections and grounds are good, could be a dead or weak cell in the battery.
Jaguars, in general, need strong healthy batteries. A battery won't stretch in a modern Jaguar. I change batteries out for new in both my XK8 and X350 every 24/30 months. My X-Type too when I owned it.
