Hi, I have a 2007 x-type with the alpine speakers and whenever I hit a bass note it sounds like the whole speaker is vibrating and making it sound really bad..so do you think the speaker is blown or do you think its not glued in there properly. And if the speaker is blown how much is it to replace at the jag dealer?

 

Change it yourself. It's easy.

The speaker would cost less than $100 from a dealer (but that depends how greedy the dealer is)

 

Yes, the glue between the magnet and the cone drys out and the magnets fall away from the speaker. Had to have three of mine replaced last year (under warranty... ;-)

How hard is it to take off the door panel? And don't you need some kind of glue to hold the speaker in place?

If I'm not mistaken there are 3 screws which hold the door trim.



And there are 3 screws for the front doors speakers as well. So, no needs of glue.
