I think the only things new will be new roads. I've had mine for a little over a year and for the following reasons I don't use it much. I wish it didn't have to break down into areas because I live just on one side of a area, so if I want to go to a restaurant or address in Illinois I have to change areas. I love having the newer map and I like having the audio turn by turn but hate when it interupts the radio. Also, the graphics on it look like stick figures compared to my Garmin. And why don't they have where it can lists restaurants, gas stations, rest areas or any of the things that the portables have? For what I paid for the one disc I could get two new Garmin GPS units. Man, I didn't mean to bitch about it, but I feel that the GPS could've been much better than what we have.

So, amazingly it arrived yesterday at 11:00 am.. how on earth did it got from TN to here in 15 hours.. ?
Anyway, it does a firmware update when you first install it.
It only came with one US- CANADA DVD, not 2 as some people are saying.
I am going skiiing for a couple of days, I will burn a back up copy of it later in the weekend..... see if it works

You have to remember, when the system was originally designed it was current technology and expected to be installed for years regardless of advances. Once they approve a system they're married to it for a while. Nature of the beast.
