key pairing (yes I read theprevious threads!)
Dear All,
X-Type, 3.0 2003, automatic.
The remote function is lost on both keys. One lost it a few months ago, the other just recently. They both can run the car. Batteries good. I tried the keypairing descriptions with both opened and closed doors but it does not work (earlier I did this a few times with no issue). After the audible from the car (4x I-II in the ignition), there is no response when I push any button on the keyfob. What could be wrong?
thank you

The RFID transponder and the remote transmitter keyfob are two entirely different things. (not related)
The RFID key does not require a battery. The keyfob transmitter does.
Does the transmitter function properly?(transmit a signal?)
Autoparts stores have transmitter testers.
I bought one from a seller on the internet. They are not that expensive.
I would take the transmitters to an autoparts store and ask to test them for proper output.

I have done it as in the document "Remote transmitter programming.pdf", only that I am sure that I closed the door before I started the 4 turns and pulled the key.
So your keys can start the car OK, yes? That means the transponders in the keys are OK.
And the remote control does not work anymore? Did you already put new 2032 batteries in? Did you check that there is no corrosion on the battery-contacts of the 2032 battery? _ I see not you wrote batteries good - how do you know?

Dear motorcarman and Dear Peter_of Australia,
Thank you both so much for taking your time to answer.
My car is within the affected VIN range described in the first document. I will have the keys tested tomorrow at a local car-key specialist store. Is the warranty still valid in case that is the problem?
I ran the protocoll in the second document multiple times. This happened earlier a few times, it always worked - it does not now.
I measured the batteries with a multimeter, and I installed new batteries despite the good Voltage output.

If it's indeed the chip, just buy a new one. Enter "Flip Remote Key for Jaguar X-Type " as search term into Aliexpress. The following seems to be a good offer:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...d=QtEzN2C5WiyQ
But I have one last idea: It is possible to switch those remotes over from 315Mhz to 433Mhz. If you did that accidentally, this would explain, why they did work before, but now not any longer...:
Press and keep pressing the "LOCK" & "UNLOCK" button at the same time, then press the "TRUNK" button 5 times.
Then release all buttons. Now your key frequency has changed to the other frequency: If it was on 315 it is now 433 MHz and visa versa.
Different frequency have their use in different countries:
315MHz: US, Korea, Japan
433 MHz: UK, Australia, EU
I knew about this trick (but did not remember, which buttons). I thought, that it is a walk in the park to find that procedure quickly somewhere on the net - but far from it. This procedure is well hidden.

So I took them to a nearby carkey-shop. It turned out that some switch inside broke. They repeaired BOTH in 30 mins for 10.000 HuF (25E; 27 USD; 22 GBP; 42 AUD) total.
One did not even lost the pairing, but I re-paired both.
Thank you for your help! This frequency thing is good to know!
