Default Ordering Keyfob

Hey all,

Glad to see that this is a common problem on 03 X-type's. My issue is that I can lock my car after a few pushes of the key fob, but unlocking just doesn't happen. I am assuming it's due to the faulty chip on the key fob (considering I have changed the batteries.)

I've noticed many of you have purchased the fob for around $20 on ebay. Can someone please link me to the fob they purchased? All I am finding currently are shells, and not fobs that actually contain the chip which is faulty in my key fob. Thanks in advance!

All my buttons worked except my unlock button when I purchased my X-Type. I simply opened up the key and cleaned out years of pocket junk and what not and blew it out with some good ole compressed air. Now it works like brand new. Best part? Only cost me a couple minutes of my time.

You pressed the red button?

It also looks like you forgot to post your intro in the new members section.

Default key fob

I just want to thank you all. I tried this and it worked...all this time I kept thinking it was the battery and kept changing it...Hopefully this will work for longer than 6 months...
