Default kindda on the jag.......kinda not

while lookin at speakers and amps i got to thinkin. i need wire. speaker wire and amplifier wire, for the jag. now the kinda not part. i am redoing a couple vehicles. and am going to need WIRE, pretty much total redo of the electrical system or close to it. where is a good place to get a couple hundred feet on spools for a decent price (not gonna buy all at once $$$$). i was kinda figuring that i may get a better deal buying in bulk, couple hundred feet here and there, but no idea where to get it. any ideas?

loaks, I normally buy a lot of my wire at either Home Depot or Lowes. While it isn't as flexible as the "car stereo" grade stuff, the price difference is dramatic. I also prefer the stiffer wire as I can form the wire to the shape that I want and it will stay there. The Home Depot/Lowes wire is stranded, but it is the difference between like 20 strand wire (Home Depot/Lowes) and 1000 strand wire (car stereo places). As for the connectors and stuff like that, check out a boating store. Sometimes they have some good prices on their stuff and it will handle the weather/conditions under the hood nicely.

thanks, the wiring is the easy part but finding the new connectors and pins suck. radioshack is probably my best bet for the stereo stuff but the new connectors and stuff for the engine i don't know.

i did find a place that sells what i need, but they sell to oem and aftermarket places. the connectors and pins and wire are at a good price but you gotta buy like 25000 ft of wire or 2000 connectors. all the same as what is on there to make harnesses. but way too much, i don't need 4.75 miles of wire

Loaks, the boating stores will have all the connectors that you will need. That is where I normally end up getting what I am after. The auto parts store will have the terminals for the battery, but much beyond that, good luck. If you are going to an auto parts store, check out NAPA. From my experience, they are the ones that have the biggest electrical parts selection out there.
